Knights Send Seniors Out with Win
Grayson, KY - The Kentucky Christian University football team entered Knights Stadium will one goal in mind … to send this senior class out with a win. To that goal, they accomplished their task by defeating the Union College Bulldogs, 33-12.
Under center, Max Ward had an outstanding day going 16-28 through the air for 270 yds and three scores. Also seeing some snaps, Kajika Sarvis was 4-8 for 36 yds, but Sarvis had an even better afternoon as he connected on a pass just prior to the game, that brought the fans to their feet. On one knee, he got the reception of a lifetime as his girlfriend, Brianna Powell, said "YES" to his offer of marriage!!
Back to the game, Deterius Gideon produced 125 receiving yards on five catches and a long of 41 yds. Both Somi Azubike and Karon Taylor hauled in touchdown passes of 17 yds and 46 yds, respectively. Austin Mullins had three catches for 39 yds.
On the ground, both Tyler Haas and Joshua Traylor collected 19 yds rushing each, but more importantly found the end zone from 1 and 13 yds, in that order.
Ellis Reed was credited with 8 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Followed by Zachary Thomas and Cameron Arthur who had seven and six tackles each, respectively.
The Knights travel to Bluefield University next week to play the Rams in their 2022 season finale. The opening kick is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
