Lake Chickamauga

The Bass fishing team traveled to Dayton, TN. last week to compete in the final Major league fishing qualifying tournament of the year on Lake Chickamauga. They faced tough conditions with the Tennessee River being very muddy from all the water from hurricane Helene making its way down the river, the TVA fluctuating water levels and the first cold front of the year. 

But we had 2 teams qualify for the nationals April 9-11 2025 on Wheeler Lake in Decatur, AL. Cameron Dials and Ethan Burnette finished 4th with 19 lbs 4 oz. Reese Keeney and Brantley Anders finished 38th with 13 lbs 11 oz. Ben Brockwell and Will Rooker finished 61st with 12 lbs 5 oz just missing the cut for nationals. 

KCU is in 16th place for the MLF tackleware house school of the year. All the results can be found on the Abu Garcia College fishing website majorleaguefishing.com. The last tournament of the year will be the Battle of the Bluegrass on Green River Lake in Campbellsville, KY on November 2nd.
