Point Holds Home Field
West Point, GA - The Kentucky Christian University football team made their way to the Point University campus for a Saturday afternoon, AAC conference tilt. Throughout this see-saw contest, both teams put together scoring runs, tied the scores, and re-took leads, but just as the final horn sounded, it was the Skyhawks that prevailed. Point claimed a 40-43 win with a 22-yd field goal as time expired.
Under center, Max Ward was 12-31 for 248 yards through the air and threw for five touchdowns but was intercepted three times. Davonte Williams led the Knights with 41 rushing yards with a 5.2 yds/carry average.
Vincent Taylor led the receiving corps with 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The trio of Williams (61 yds), Austin Mullins (48 yds), and Deterius Gideon (37 yds) each hauled in a touchdown during game.
On the defensive of the ball, Justin Lewis and Zachary Thomas reached double figures in tackles as they collected 10 each. Right behind them was Brian Hughes with nine takedowns.
The Knights will return to Knights Stadium next week for a rematch with Union College. The opening kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
Go Knights!!!
