Knights Get Buzzer Beater Win Over St. Andrews

Grayson, KY - KCU took on the Knights of St. Andrews on Saturday afternoon. 

Both teams played fairly evenly throughout the first half of play. It was tied 32-32 going into halftime. After the half KCU had a 12 point lead but SAU fought back to regain the lead by 1 after a steal and a basket with 3 seconds left to play.

St. Andrews led by 1 with 3 seconds left to play in the game. After being able to drive the ball down and get key timeouts and a foul, the Knights have the ball past mid court with 1.4 seconds left.

A well executed pass by Jayden Loydd to LeMar Northington sealed the win for the Knights at the buzzer.


Eric Sanders led the Knights with 19 points, 1 steal, 1 assist, and 4 rebounds.

Rheyce DeBoard tallied 13 points, 1 steal, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds.

LeMar Northington recorded 10 points, 1 block, 4 steals, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds. He was 3-6 from the field and 4-4 on free throws. Northington made the game winning shot with only 1.4 seconds remaining.

The Knights will be back in action on January 10th at 6:00 PM on the road to take on Bryan College.
