Bio

Chad Vanderhoof enters his second season at Kentucky Christian University where he is the Director of Football Operations, Chief of Staff, Special Teams Coordinator and Running Back Coach.

 

Coach Vanderhoof is a native of the area, attended and graduated from Raceland-Worthington High School, where he was a 4-year Letterman in both Football and Track. 

 

Upon graduating from high school Coach Vanderhoof went on to serve in the United States Army where he served for 12 years on active duty. Coach Vanderhoof was deployed 3 times for a total of 36 months in direct combat in Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his time in the Army Coach Vanderhoof earned over 25 commendations and awards for his superior performance. Coach Vanderhoof was medically retired from the Army in August of 2015 due to injuries sustained from his combat deployments. 

 

During Coach Vanderhoof's military career he volunteered his extra time at different high schools to help coach, teach, and mentor young men in the football programs. Upon returning to Kentucky, Coach Vanderhoof coached at local area high schools before joining the KCU football program in the spring of 2022.

 

In the 2022 season Coach Vanderhoof mentored a Punt Return unit that saw tremendous success as one of the best units in the nation. The 2022 Punt Return team led the nation in block punts with nine and had one game with three blocks, while they also were second in the nation in return yards. The Punt Return unit also saw one of the returners be named 1st team All-Conference Returner.

 

Coach Vanderhoof is married to Kristan Vanderhoof and the couple have five children, Charles, Emmalee, Waylon, Kash and Whitley.
