WBB Finishes 2022-23 Season in AAC Tournament
Kingsport, TN – The Lady Knights basketball season came to a close in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) women’s basketball tournament. In the opening game for both teams, #9 Kentucky Christian fell to #8 Columbia International by the score of 62-72.
For KCU, Jada Higgins led the team with an 18 pt/nine reb effort, including six assists, three steals and a blocked shot. Just missing the double-digit plateau, Lakyn Adkins added nine points and four rebounds along with a block.
With eight points each, the trio of Kylie Gilliam, Elizabeth Hardwick and Abby West rounded out the scoring column. Gilliam chipped in five rebounds and two assists while Hardwick grabbed four boards and two steals. West had a steal and two blocks for her afternoon’s work. Leading the way for KCU on the boards, Jasmine Flowers led both teams with 11 rebs in her final game in the Red/Black.
With the loss, KCU has concluded the NAIA portion of their season. Congratulations to our Lady Knights, we look forward to the 2023-24 season!!
