Gilliam Leads Lady Knights over CIU
Grayson, KY - The first home game of 2023 proved to be a test for the KCU Lady Knights, and it was a test they passed with flying colors, defeating the Columbia International University Lady Rams 70-65.
Our Lady knights showed tenacity throughout the game on both ends of the court, holding CIU to 30% from the field for the game, and just 18.8% from the field in the first half.
Jada Higgins led the Lady Knights in scoring with 15, adding on 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Lakyn Adkins joined her in the double-double club with 11 points and 10 boards. Kylie Gilliam gave the Lady Knights a spark, netting 14 points off the bench, 7 of which were in the first quarter.
Starting guards Abby West, and Ragan Adkins combined for 17 points, as well as four assists to only one turnover. Our Lady Knights controlled the pace of the game with their defensive intensity and relentless attack offensively.
The Lady Knights now have a record of 9-6 overall (6-5 in conference), with their next game this Saturday January 7th at home in Grayson against Truett-McConnell.
